Meet Our Newest Furriends: How 3 Kittens Found Their Way to Allie’s Cat House

Rescue life has a funny way of filling your home before you even realize it. At Allie’s Cat House, we always say we’re full… and then a new set of tiny paws shows up and somehow there’s always room. (Anyone in rescue gets it — the math simply doesn’t math, but we still make it work. 😂)

This is the story of our newest little crew. Three kittens/young adults who will officially be ready for adoption soon — and whose journey to us was anything but simple.

How It Started

A kind woman named Karen discovered Allie’s Cat House on Facebook and messaged us asking if we could help with some kittens roaming her backyard and neighborhood. She offered to trap them if we had space.

We technically didn’t have space — we already had two kittens looking for homes and four adult cats we were still socializing from earlier in the year — but then again, when did that ever stop us? If there was a way we could help, we would.

The Plan: A Foster Mama With a Big Heart

One of the cats we were socializing had given birth a few months earlier, and we wondered if she might accept these new kittens as her own. The kittens weren’t so young that they needed nursed so that was great. Maybe just a little comfort for them, and maybe a little comfort for her too.

So we crossed our fingers and started preparing.

Trapping: One by One… by One…

Karen set out traps and caught the first three kittens quickly — two black kittens and one tortie. The last two were much more cautious, and it took her a few more weeks to safely catch them.

While Karen kept trying for the remaining two, we began introducing the first three kittens to foster mama.

And honestly? It was beautiful.

She took to them instantly, as if she knew exactly what they needed — and maybe it gave her a sense of purpose again since her own babies had already been adopted. Watching her cuddle them was heartwarming. It felt like we were doing the right thing.

Heartbreak and Healing

One of the black kittens has cerebellar hypoplasia (wobbly cat syndrome, we named him weebles!), but he lives his little life with so much determination and sweetness. He getting around great!

(This is weebles)

Then unexpectedly, the other black kitten fell ill and passed away within a few days. We were devastated. Rescue isn’t all cute pictures — sometimes it breaks you.

But just a few days later, Karen trapped the next kitten: another shy black baby who hid for nearly a month before trusting us. Slowly, he began accepting pets and exploring the house. Day by day, he’s coming out of his shell. Hes very very sweet.

The final kitten — the 5th little black cat — took even longer to trap… and after all that time and effort, Karen fell in love and decided to keep him herself ❤️

Growing up at Allies Cat House

The kittens who came to us are doing great in our multi-cat household:

  • The kitten siblings love each other fiercely
  • They’re learning that humans are safe
  • They’re each becoming more confident every week
  • They’ll need patience and time in their forever homes — but the love they give back is worth every second

These sweet babies will be available for adoption very soon. You can get updates on their status on our Adoptable Furriends page (coming soon).

This is their story, and we’re so grateful you’re here to be part of their next chapter.
